Welcome back Spring!!! We sure have missed you!!!
My oldest daughter and I have been eagerly waiting for Spring to come! She's been literally counting the days until Spring. This winter has been a LONG and COLD one! I feel bad complaining, when just three years or so I was spending much LONGER and COLDER winters in Chicago, IL. But that is the whole point why one moves OUT of Chicago to begin with...so as to not deal with harsh and long winters. Granted that we didn't have nearly as much snow or cold temperatures as I used to see in Chicago, we still had a lot more than what we've had in previous winters here in NC. And one is spoiled easily once faced with better weather :)
Being pregnant and with two busy little ones three and under, having to spend most days stranded inside the house has been very difficult on us, especially since we don't have a large living space in our current home. So we have been eagerly waiting for warmer weather to arrive.
Spring and fall are my favorite seasons! I'm just that mild weather kind of person. I also absolutely love to see the magic of life springing up, the colorful flowers, the birds and animals coming out, the grass turning green again. And I love that we're able to be OUT, exploring God's creation and seeing all the daily miracles before our very eyes! I thank God for this precious GIFT He gives us every year, and I hope we can all enjoy this one to the fullest, after this long and cold winter season!
Today with a high of 67F and clear skies...it was just the perfect day to welcome Spring!!! Unfortunately future forecast predicts a high of 38F just this coming Tuesday with potential *snow*...crazy or what??? In Chicago it was normal for Spring to arrive some time in May...March was still just as cold and filled with snow days as any winter day. But North Carolina??? That shouldn't be the case! :(
But instead of complaining, I want to REJOICE and PRAISE GOD for this beautiful day we got to enjoy today, and the beautiful weather we're looking forward to enjoying this coming weekend. I'll take each blessing as they come, and hopefully soon we'll see Spring kicking this cold weather OUT once and for all!!! Until next winter at least :)
Below are some of the photos I took of our beautiful early and late Spring days last year as we soaked ourselves in all of God's beautiful creations!!! (And some of men's creations too!)

"For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land." Song of Solomon 2:11-12
"Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth." Hosea 6:3
And how timely that we get to celebrate resurrection Sunday during Spring time!!! It's amazing to see how God's creation not only brings Him glory, but also presents us with small pictures of Himself!
To think that we were all dead, just like the many flowers, grass and trees during winter...and that through HIS death and Resurrection, we get to spring up to LIFE again! Not just any life...but an eternal one! Blows my mind...

"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 --HIS Words, not mine!!!
